Job description

We are looking for a Communication Coordination professional to complete our consultants Workforce Management Service to support the Technology, Engineering and Quality Directorate of the European Space Agency (ESA) at their location in Noordwijk, The Netherlands. The purpose of this Support Service is to support the TEC Directorate, home to the ESA Education Programme, which has the objective to use space as a theme to enhance the literacy of young people in science and technology and to motivate young Europeans to pursue STEM studies and careers related to space in particular. The selected candidate should show integrity and professionalism.


Please note, the successful candidate will be employed by ATG Europe (or one of its subsidiaries). Furthermore, upon selection, they will be subject to a general security screening performed by an external provider (further information will be provided at the interview stage).


The successful candidate will be tasked with, but not limited to:

  • Support the Facility Management Team to ensure that ESTEC site remains adaptable for visits, both public and internal events, mission launches, and displays;
  • Collaborate with the Internal Communications Office (Corporate Communication) to guarantee communication to the ESTEC workforce;
  • Support in the implementation of communication messages and of the latest ESA Corporate branding at the ESTEC establishment exhibition/display materials and tools, including collaboration with the ESA Communication Branding Office;
  • Maintain and populate (publish) all TEC and ESTEC social media platforms (eg X ESA NL, TEC LinkedIn, Head of ESTEC site and D/TEC LinkedIn, ESTEC and TEC Website) with ESA/ESTEC and TEC/ESTEC key messaging, including close collaboration with the corporate communication editors;
  • Collaborate with the ESA Corporate Communication Social Media Office on branding and type of messaging;
  • Create and edit articles for internal and external use;
  • Create a TEC social media campaign per year, promoting TEC annual defined goals and ESTEC’s events, visits and support projects;
  • Support with editorial duties;
  • Support with a variety of events and event planning activities at ESTEC.

Job requirements

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field;
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience;
  • Highly proficient with modern electronics office automation tools, in particular Microsoft Office suite and electronic mailing (in particular MS Excel and MS Outlook);
  • Very good interpersonal skills, i.e. a helpful and positive approach to management and other colleagues in the directorate;
  • Interest and good understanding of ESA and TEC Programs and related activities;
  • A developed sense for initiatives and strong organizational skills;
  • A good sense of organization;
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the EU;
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
