Job description

We are looking for a Composites Design and Analysis Development Engineer to join our ATG Engineering Team for their location in Noordwijk, the Netherlands, or in Galway, Ireland. The selected candidate should show integrity and professionalism.

Please note, upon selection, the successful candidate will be subject to a general security screening performed by an external provider (further information will be provided at interview stage).

The successful candidate will be tasked with, but not limited to:

  • Top level design and system engineering on the composite technologies and products;
  • CAD modelling and design;
  • FE modelling, analysis, and optimisation;
  • Setting up and improving design, analysis, and optimisation procedures;
  • Reporting and documentation;
  • Supporting design for manufacturing activities;
  • Supporting or partaking in manufacturing of components;
  • Supporting the preparation of business proposals;
  • Supporting or supervising other team members, including interns;
  • Organising, performing, and supervising various research activities;
  • Interfacing with customers as part of projects or business development.

Job requirements

  • A Master’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, or similar;
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience;
  • Experience with FE model setup and analysis, preferably of composites, is a must;
  • Affinity with fibre-reinforced composite materials and structures is a must;
  • Affinity and hands-on experience with manufacturing methods for composites;
  • Ability to work multi-disciplinarily and independently, well organised, and efficiently;
  • Capability of working in an ambitious team with occasional peaks in workload;
  • Experience in working in an industrial environment is an asset;
  • Experience with CAD software (preferably CATIA V5) is an asset;
  • Knowledge of design and optimisation methods, analytical and numerical, from conceptual design to detailed optimisation methods is an asset;
  • Experience with FEMAP with NX/MSC Nastran is an additional asset;
  • Affinity and experience with manufacturing processes for metals is an additional asset;
  • Basic programming skills (preferably in Python) is an additional asset;
  • Open-minded attitude, with a capability to challenge industry standards;
  • Personal initiative and thirst for improvement and developing new skills;
  • At least a rudimentary sense of humour;
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken;
  • Knowledge of other languages is an asset;
  • Candidates must be eligible to work and live in EU.
