Job description

We are looking for a Electrical GSE Engineer Operations on behalf of and in support to our client for their location in Bremen, Germany. The selected candidate should show integrity and professionalism.

Please note, the successful candidate will be employed by ATG Europe (or one of its subsidiaries). Furthermore, upon selection, they will be subject to a general security screening performed by an external provider (further information will be provided at interview stage).

In the assembly and test phase of a satellite, the AIT (Assembly, Integration & Test) department has one of the leading roles. As an Electrical GSE Operations Engineer, the successful candidate will usually work in a small team performing the EGSE activities on a satellite project within the AIT support function. The Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) provides power during the assembly and test phase of a satellite and supports by processing measurements and telemetry, sending telecommands and developing and validating (flight) procedures.

The successful candidate will be tasked with, but not limited to:

  • Inspection of EGSE and related material (configuration, delivery status);
  • Participation in the verification process for EGSE, preparation of acceptance procedures;
  • Preparation of maintenance and spare parts plans of an EGSE;
  • Handle and solve technical problems concerning EGSE;
  • During the AIT phase:
    • Prepare, configure and schedule the EGSE for use in testing;
    • Tickle script development;
    • EGSE transport preparation and support during off-site missions (environmental tests, launch campaign).
  • Documentation and database maintenance;
  • Maintenance of the EGSE in the clean room, including upgrades and further development.

Job requirements

  • Completed engineering studies in the field of Electrical Engineering, Space Technology, Physics or similar;
  • Experience in the field of satellite AIT or in EGSE application is an asset;
  • Knowledge of ECSS standards for test and verification of software and hardware;
  • Knowledge of satellite control systems (CCS), preferably SCOS 2000 version 3.1 (TOPE);
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills;
  • Very good analytical and conceptual skills;
  • Willingness to work in clean rooms, travel, and perform occasional shift work;
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
