PA Downstream Engineer

We are looking for a PA Downstream Engineer on behalf of the European Space Agency (ESA) for their location in Frascati, Italy. The selected candidate will be involved in end-to-end review and supervision of EO missions through appropriate engineering activities. The selected candidate should show integrity and professionalism.

Please note, the successful candidate will be employed by ATG Europe (or one of its subsidiaries). Furthermore, upon selection, they will be subject to a general security screening performed by an external provider (further information will be provided at the interview stage).

The successful candidate will be tasked with, but not limited to:

• Preparation and update documents established at Downstream level as needed;
• Preparation and participation to Contactors reviews for all product assurance subjects;
• Ensuring approval process for all critical Downstream Elements;
• Ensuring the adherence to internal processes and customer requirements applicable to the IRIDE Project;
• Managing the non-conformance processes, follow up of containment, adjustment, corrective and preventive actions;
• Managing risks and opportunities with associated mitigation actions.

• A Masters’ degree in Engineering or Physics;
• At least 8 years of relevant work experience;
• Solid experience in PA activities;
• Experience in Earth Observation satellite and ground segment systems design and implementation;
• Experience on Earth Observation Ground Segment integration, verification and validation;
• Experience with Earth Observations Data Management;
• Knowledge of processes and related regulations for H/W and S/W on Ground Segment;
• Background in Space Segment and Ground Segment engineering with systems orientation and end-to-end view of Earth Observation missions is an asset;
• Experience in the Product Assurance field for Space Missions (specificly for Ground Segment) is an asset;
• Self-motivation, autonomy, and the ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team;
• Flexibility in dealing with day-to-day operational challenges;
• Strong teamwork;
• Ability to thoroughly address responsibilities, with good attention to detail and a proven understanding of documentation methods and requirements;
• Ability to review, assess, and document problems and propose solutions;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong social skills, and ability to build consensus among peers while building solid relationships with team members;
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken;
• Good command of Italian is an asset;
• Candidates must be eligible to work and live in EU.
