Job description

We are looking for a Public Relations and Social Media for EAC, Estonia and Hungary to complete our consultants Workforce Management Service to support the Outreach team of the European Space Agency (ESA) at their location in Cologne, Germany. The purpose of this Support Service is to provide the Agency with all logistical and organizational skills needed to support internal and external communication activities​​. The selected candidate should show integrity and professionalism.


Please note, the successful candidate will be employed by ATG Europe (or one of its subsidiaries). Furthermore, upon selection, they will be subject to a general security screening performed by an external provider (further information will be provided at the interview stage).


The successful candidate will be tasked with, but not limited to:

  • Ensure operational liaison with national space agencies for coordination of common outreach initiatives;
  • Liaise with the relevant Departments’ Office to facilitate potential expansion of partnerships within these Member States;
  • Promote coordinated outreach events by writing articles for both the Intranet and the ESA portal, as well as draft project/final reports;
  • Support in the creation of the national web pages on the ESA portal and social media channels in liaison with the relevant Department’s Office;
  • Support outreach activities of the ESA astronauts of Estonian and Hungarian nationalities in close collaboration with EAC;
  • Support national and international event organization in line with identified priorities;
  • Coordinate the potential participation of external communicators network to these events;
  • Support the relevant social media campaigns;
  • Organise and implement potential outreach events at establishment level as well as EAC visits for general public and schools by coordinating with the service provision for EAC local and logistic activities and the Head of Establishment office respectively;
  • Ensure availability of promotional and merchandising material for EAC events and visits in liaison with the relevant Departments’ Office and EAC Space Shop when needed.

Job requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Communications, Outreach, or a related discipline;
  • At least 4 years of relevant work experience;
  • High proficiency with modern electronics office automation tools, in particular Microsoft Office suite and electronic mailing;
  • Ability to communicate with industry counterparts in the execution of the project-specific tasks;
  • Familiarity with ESA working environment in a similar position is a distinct advantage;
  • Familiarity with outreach activities related to science and technology;
  • Knowledge of the Estonian and/or Hungarian media landscape is an asset;
  • Capacity to identify priority actions and handle high workloads;
  • Easy contact with personnel and well-balanced autonomy in the execution of the requested tasks;
  • High level of flexibility as well as initiative and team spirit;
  • Rigor, commitment, and reliability in the execution of the assigned tasks;
  • Good understanding of the Italian media landscape;
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken;
  • Knowledge of Estonian and/or Hungarian is an asset.
