Job description

We are looking for an Application Engineer/Administrator on behalf of and in support to our client to operate from our location in ​Noordwijk, The Netherlands​. 

 

Please note, the successful candidate will be employed by ATG Europe (or one of its subsidiaries). Furthermore, upon selection, they will be subject to a general security screening performed by an external provider (further information will be provided at interview stage). 

 

The successful candidate will be tasked with, but not limited to: 

  • Application installation, configuration and administration; 

  • Application monitoring  and performance tuning; 

  • Administration of security, access control, permissions; 

  • Writing of application procedures manuals, including troubleshooting guides, backup and disaster recovery plans; 

  • Application incident and problem management; 

  • Coordination of application support.

Job requirements

Please ensure that your CV clearly explains how you meet the mandatory requirements. If it doesn’t align completely with the essential criteria, it could result in rejection. 

  • Either a 4-year University level degree and 9 years of relevant work experience or a 3-year University level degree with 10 years of relevant work experience;   

  • At least 6 years of experience working as an IT professional in mid/large IT infrastructure environments, including deployment, support and maintenance of applications; 

  • At least 5 years of experience working as an IT professional in the area of application administration; 

  • At least 2 years  years of experience with micro-services, container orchestration and container-based stacks such as Docker or Kubernetes; 

  • At least 2 years of experience administering and supporting Elasticsearch; 

  • At least 5 years of experience working with enterprise Microsoft or Linux server solutions;  

  • Ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings, ease of communication; 

  • Excellent knowledge of software deployment management; 

  • Good knowledge of DEVOPS and software release management; 

  • Good knowledge of micro-services, container orchestration and container-based stacks using Kubernetes, Helm charts, Docker and Rancher; 

  • Knowledge of application servers;  

  • Knowledge of scripting, automation and deployment tools; 

  • Knowledge of DBMS; 

  • Good knowledge of ITIL, including the incident, change and release management processes; 

  • Good knowledge of shell and/or PowerShell scripting; 

  • Good knowledge of configuration management concepts and technologies (e.g. Puppet, Ansible, Chocolatey); 

  • Experience working with Public or Hybrid Cloud services and solutions (AZURE or AWS) is an asset; 

  • Good knowledge of Kong API Gateway is an asset; 

  • Good knowledge of relational databases (e.g. MS SQL, PostgreSQL) and how they interact with applications is an asset; 

  • Able to cope with the fast changing technologies;                                                                             

  • Ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings, excellent communicator; 

  • Capability of working in an international/ multicultural environment; 

  • Candidates must have or be eligible to obtain EU Secret level Personnel Security Clearance;   

  • Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the EU; 

  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
