Job description

We are looking for a ​Communication Support Professional for the Czech Project Astronaut Mission​ to complete our consultants Workforce Management Service of the European Space Agency (ESA) at their location in ​Cologne, Germany​.  

 

The astronaut communication support team provides coordinated editorial, social media, public appearance and mission communication support for a dedicated astronaut mission and related HRE activities. The work is performed in close coordination with the astronauts assigned to missions and is guided by priorities, requirements and approvals defined by the EAC and Astronauts Communication Officer and the HRE Communication Officer.

 

Please note that this position is initially offered for a period of one year. However, the duration may be extended or adjusted subject to the timeline requirements of the astronaut's mission. 

 

Please note, the successful candidate will be employed by ATG Europe (or one of its subsidiaries). Furthermore, upon selection, they will be subject to a general security screening performed by an external provider (further information will be provided at the interview stage).

The successful candidate will be tasked with, but not limited to: 

  • Deliver day-to-day writing, editorial and social media support for the astronaut’s mission, related HRE programmatic content in English and Czech;  

  • Provide social and other content production and publishing; 

  • Administer and respond to requests for public appearances through the PAROS platform and other standard communication channels; 

  • Coordinate and administrate the astronaut’s public appearances in accordance to HRE’s policy on Astronaut Appearances; 

  • Monitor and comment moderation of social media channels dedicated to the mission; 

  • Participation and active contribution to coordination weekly meetings; 

  • Produce writing and review of recorded message scripts; 

  • Provide social media support at mission-related events; 

  • Undertake Czech mother tongue editing and, ad-hoc translation of shorter texts; 

  • Provide support for other HRE-related content, particularly in context of flagship communication activities; 

  • Produce daily general editorial and social media support for HRE activities. 

Job requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Outreach, or a related discipline;

  • At least 7 years of relevant professional experience;

  • Proven ability to create and adapt communication materials, including articles, scripts, social media content, infographics, captions, print products, and multimedia content (text, video, audio, and images) in English and Czech;

  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and content management skills, with the ability to publish content across websites, blogs, and social media platforms;

  • Experience creating and editing content for digital channels, including LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and X;

  • High proficiency in modern office automation tools, particularly the Microsoft Office suite and electronic mailing applications;

  • Ability to communicate effectively with industry counterparts in the execution of project-specific tasks;

  • Capacity to identify priorities, manage multiple tasks, and perform effectively under high workloads;

  • Familiarity with an international working environment in a similar position is considered an advantage;

  • Strong interpersonal skills combined with the ability to work autonomously;

  • High level of flexibility, initiative, and team spirit;

  • Demonstrated rigor, commitment, and reliability in the execution of assigned tasks;

  • Fluency in English and Czech, both written and spoken;

  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the EU.
