The successful candidate will be responsible for every aspect related to Data Handling Subsystem starting from requirements definition, design to functional tests and operation’s support. They will work with Satellite and Avionics engineering teams throughout the full system development life-cycle. They also must follow technical data exchange with suppliers. Finally, they will support testing at the different stages of integration, by the definition of test specification, support of testing activities and review of test reports. 

 

Please note, the successful candidate will be employed by ATG Europe (or one of its subsidiaries). Furthermore, upon selection, they will be subject to a general security screening performed by an external provider (further information will be provided at interview stage). 

 

The successful candidate will be tasked with, but not limited to: 

  • Carry responsibility for the design of the entire Subsystem for different missions and platform, in particular for the RISE program;  

  • Analyse Subystem level specifications;   

  • Define Data Handling architecture;   

  • Define Data interfaces and Data budgets;   

  • Select and configure Data Protocols;   

  • Define input specifications for the Data Handling units;  

  • Participate in the procurement process and technical meetings;  

  • Review technical documentation;   

  • Participate in the development process by the definition and Design and Development Plan; 

  • Coordinate technical meetings; 

  • Review technical documentation and provide support to the planning of the development activities;   

  • Provide support to the system AIV and AIT definition;   

  • Provide support to the testing activities at unit, subsystem and system level;  

  • Provide support to the operations definition and operations during the mission.

Job requirements

Please ensure that your CV clearly explains how you meet the mandatory requirements. If it doesn’t align completely with the essential criteria, it could result in rejection. 

  • Master’s degree in Electronic or Space Engineering or equivalent practical experience; 

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience; 

  • Knowledge of Data Handling architecture; 

  • Knowledge  of  Data  interfaces  (CAN/CANopen,  SpW,  SpaceFibre,  HSSL, RS-422)  and  Data  protocols  (MIL1553, CCSDS packet, CCSDS/ECSS TM/TC, PUS, CFDP);   

  • Knowledge  of  ASW  architecture  for  Multicore  on-board  computers; 

  • Basic knowledge of the main design features and figures of merit of the AOCS units (Magnetometers, Magnetic Torquer, Star Trackers, Reaction Wheel, CMG, Sun Sensors);   

  • Knowledge of the HW and SW architecture of the on-board computer, TC decoder, TM encoder and Mass Memory, with focus on latest technology trends;   

  • Knowledge of Space Segment DDV and AIV processes as defined by the ECSS; 

  • Familiarity with SAVOIR is considered an asset;   

  • A self-starter and highly motivated with strong organizational and communication skills; 

  • Proactive attitude and ability to work in team and individuall 

  • Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the EU;  

  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
