Job description

We are looking for an Electrical, Instrumentation & Control Engineer for Remote Handling Control Systems on behalf of and in support to our client for their location in Barcelona, Spain. The selected candidate should show integrity and professionalism.


Please note, the successful candidate will be employed by ATG Europe (or one of its subsidiaries). Furthermore, upon selection, they will be subject to a general security screening performed by an external provider (further information will be provided at interview stage).


The successful candidate will be tasked with, but not limited to:

  • Support the electrical I&C design for Remote Handling equipment covering advanced remotely operated manipulators, movers, and tools;
  • Contribute to the development of technical specifications for electrical I&C design, manufacturing, and testing activities for Remote Handling equipment;
  • Support the follow-up and verification of electrical I&C design, manufacturing and testing activities carried out by F4E suppliers.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in electrical/industrial engineering;
  • At least 6 years of relevant experience;
  • Experience in electrical and instrumentation and control specification and design, development and testing of automated machinery or robotics systems covering some of the following areas:
    • Development of technical specifications for I&C systems;
    • Selection of I&C equipment such as sensors, actuators (electrical motors, hydraulic valves), fieldbus remote I/Os, control equipment (PLCs, HMIs);
    • Electrical power distribution design from power mains, to cubicles and equipment;
    • Cabling design: selection of cables, cables routing inside the machinery and cable trays;
    • Electrical design of power and control cubicles and of on-board machinery equipment;
    • Development of electrical diagrams and documentation for the manufacturing of complex machines;
    • Verification, testing and commissioning of cubicles, onboard electrical I&C equipment and integrated systems;
    • Power and control cubicles design and commissioning.
  • Knowledge of electrical CAD tools such as SEE Electrical Expert or CANECO is considered an asset;
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment is an asset;
  • Excellent level of English is mandatory.
