Job description

We are looking for an Expert Editor & Communication Specialist ​on behalf of the European Space Agency (ESA) for their location in ​Noordwijk, Netherlands​. Please be aware this is a temporary position. 

 

Please note, the successful candidate will be employed by ATG Europe (or one of its subsidiaries). Furthermore, upon selection, they will be subject to a general security screening performed by an external provider (further information will be provided at interview stage). 

 

The successful candidate will be tasked with, but not limited to: 

 

Tasks and Responsibilities 

  • Produce compelling content by crafting engaging narratives for diverse audiences across print and digital platforms;

  • Ensure editorial excellence in delivering meticulous editing, proofreading, and quality control;

  • Gather and disseminate information from a network of collaborators from different parts of the business to create high level reports for a variety of stakeholders;

  • Manage digital presence: Utilising CMs platforms and social media analytics to optimise outreach;

  • Plan, organise and execute successful events.

Job requirements

Please ensure that your CV clearly explains how you meet the essential requirements. If it doesn’t align completely with the essential criteria, it could result in rejection. 

  • A Master's degree in Communication or a related field;

  • At least 10 years of experience in content creation for print and digital media;

  • At least 5 years of experience in the scientific domain, specifically space sector, is an asset;

  • Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign (and ideally the full Adobe Suite);

  • Proficiency in CMS platforms and social media analytics;

  • Strong presentation and PowerPoint skills;

  • Familiarity with ESA TEC Directorate, particularly GSTP and TDE programmes is an asset;

  • Ability to work in an international environment;

  • Excellent team player with strong self-management skills;

  • Ability to liaise with senior management with engineering backgrounds and advise on best practice communications;

  • Experience motivating staff through effective delivery of the senior leadership's vision and communication priorities through internal communications channels;

  • Capable of handling different tasks concurrently;

  • Managing brand and tone of voice in all communications;

  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the EU;

  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
