Job description

We are looking for multiple ​Ground Segment Integration Engineers​ to complete our consultants Workforce Management Service to support the European Space Agency (ESA) at their location in ​Harwell, United Kingdom​. The purpose of this Support Service is to ​support ESA’s Earth Observation Science Ground Segment Framework to integrate new operational service needs raised by existing Science Mission teams into the running EO service ecosystem. The engineer analyses requirements, translates them into onboarding activities, and ensures readiness before handover to operations. ​   

 

Please note, the successful candidate will be employed by ATG Europe (or one of its subsidiaries). Furthermore, upon selection, they will be subject to a general security screening performed by an external provider (further information will be provided at the interview stage). 

 

The successful candidate will be tasked with, but not limited to: 

  • Analyse new service requests and translate them into onboarding plans (activities, timelines, acceptance criteria); 

  • Coordinate workshops with ESA Mission Teams, Science Operations, IT service providers and external service partners; 

  • Prepare service-related documentation and training/support material for introduction into operations;  

  • Track onboarding status, risks, and decision points until the service is accepted.

Job requirements

Please ensure that your CV clearly explains how you meet the mandatory requirements. If it doesn’t align completely with the essential criteria, it could result in rejection. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Physics, or similar STEM discipline; 

  • At least 3 years of experience in service engineering, service transition or ITIL Service Introduction; 

  • Experience coordinating technical stakeholders, such as customers and suppliers; 

  • Strong requirement analysis and documentation capabilities; 

  • Experience in structured environments such as European agencies, aerospace, defence, or large ICT programmes; 

  • Knowledge of Earth Observation or Ground Segment is an asset; 

  • Experience with ESA workflows or ECSS project phases is an asset; 

  • Familiarity with Ground Segment of Earth Observation Science Missions requiring new services during their evolution phase is an asset: 

  • SMOS evolution needs or service changes;  

  • CryoSat-2 enhancements;  

  • User-facing services for the Heritage Programme.  

  • Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the United Kingdom; 

  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
