We are looking for a ​Ground Segment System Engineer​ on behalf of and in support to our client for their location in ​Rome, Italy​.  

 

Please note, the successful candidate will be employed by ATG Europe (or one of its subsidiaries). Furthermore, upon selection, they will be subject to a general security screening performed by an external provider (further information will be provided at interview stage). 

 

The successful candidate will be tasked with, but not limited to: 

  • Define, implement, and maintain the End-to-End (E2E) governance framework for IRIDE system operations; 

  • Establish governance procedures, workflows, escalation paths, and coordination mechanisms;  

  • Define and monitor system-level KPIs and SLA compliance;  

  • Coordinate governance activities across internal and external stakeholders;  

  • Support operational readiness and service management activities;  

  • Define requirements for system monitoring and dashboarding solutions;  

  • Support implementation of real-time KPI/SLA tracking and operational reporting;  

  • Identify and manage IRIDE stakeholders, roles, and responsibilities;  

  • Develop communication and training plans for stakeholders;  

  • Analyse mission objectives, operational concepts, and service requirements;  

  • Define and assess downloading scenarios and operational constraints;  

  • Support Technical Data Set (TDS) generation and maintenance;  

  • Perform mission capability and impact assessments;  

  • Support trade-off analyses and technical decision-making processes;  

  • Contribute to planning, budgeting, and resource estimation activities;  

  • Develop and maintain Service Management Plans and governance documentation.

Job requirements

Please ensure that your CV clearly explains how you meet the mandatory requirements. If it doesn’t align completely with the essential criteria, it could result in rejection. 

  • Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related technical discipline; 

  • At least 7 years of relevant experience; 

  • Proven experience in complex system governance, aerospace operations, or large-scale engineering programs; 

  • Experience with KPI/SLA definition and operational performance monitoring; 

  • Knowledge of system engineering and operational governance methodologies;  

  • Experience supporting technical governance and stakeholder coordination;  

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities;  

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; 

  • Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the EU;  

  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
