We are looking for a Mechanical AIT/AIV Engineer to complete our consultants Workforce Management Service to support the Systems Department of the European Space Agency (ESA) at their location in Noordwijk, The Netherlands. The purpose of this Support Service is to support ESA in the provision of technical competence in the field of systems engineering, cost engineering, software engineering, attitude and orbit control engineering as well as projects and systems management.
The Service in the Space Segment Systems Engineering Division (TEC-SY) and in In-Orbit Technology Demonstration and Validation Division (TEC-SI), shall aid the development and provision of the most adequate systems engineering competence, by supporting:
Projects and programmes for all areas related to space segment systems engineering including AIT/AIV, payload, platforms, rovers, FDIR, logistics etc., throughout all phases; this covers also pre-Phase A mission and system design studies, including those conducted with Concurrent Engineering in the Concurrent Design Facility (CDF) in support of programmes’ preparation of future missions;

The successful candidate will be tasked with, but not limited to:
Support the activities of the section and Agency Projects, activities and studies in the area of AIT/AIV engineering as required throughout all project phases, but without assuming direct responsibility:
Support the Satellite Engineering and AIV Manager (or equivalent management figure on project side) with respect to Assembly, Integration, Verification and Test tasks, including monitoring of activities at industrial premises;
Contribute to environmental testing and launch campaigns as requested by the assigned Project;
Provide inputs to internal and external meetings, supporting them as requested by the assigned Project;
Review the project documentation as produced throughout the project lifetime in the area of AIT and AIV, providing inputs and comments;
Support the Satellite Engineering and AIV Manager (or equivalent management figure on project side) in monitoring the evolution of the identified Project risks;
Support iterations with project engineering disciplines for AIT and AIV related tasks.
