Job description

We are looking for a ​Mechanical Engineer​ on behalf of and in support to our client for their location in ​Barcelona, Spain​, to join their Test Blanket System Team. The selected candidate should show integrity and professionalism. Please be aware that this is a fully remote position.  

  

Please note, the successful candidate will be employed by ATG Europe (or one of its subsidiaries). Furthermore, upon selection, they will be subject to a general security screening performed by an external provider (further information will be provided at interview stage).  

  

The successful candidate will be tasked with, but not limited to:  

  • Conduct preconceptual 2D/3D design of Tritium Blanket Modules modules, including attachment systems and remote maintenance feasibility studies;  

  • Develop segmentation strategies and generate BB module configuration options to optimize system integration and maintenance;  

  • Define key interfaces (e.g., coolant pipes, tritium extraction systems) and create CAD models to validate design choices;  

  • Prepare integrated CAD layouts for nuclear systems, ensuring alignment with interfacing components such as VV (Vacuum Vessel) and service infrastructure;  

  • Conduct systematic design iterations with VV designers, service engineers, and stakeholders to resolve interface conflicts and ensure system coherence;  

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to perform 3D model reviews and optimize layouts for manufacturability and safety;  

  • Validate designs against nuclear safety constraints.

Job requirements

Please ensure that your CV clearly explains how you meet the mandatory requirements. If it doesn’t align completely with the essential criteria, it could result in rejection. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering; 

  • At least 8 years of relevant experience; 

  • Proficiency in 3D CAD tools (CATIA) and 2D drafting; 

  • Experience with nuclear systems design, including interface management and remote handling feasibility; 

  • Knowledge of RCC-MRx; 

  • Familiarity with product lifecycle management and geometric dimensioning/tolerancing is an asset; 

  • Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the EU;  

  • Fluency English, both written and spoken.
