Job description

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer in support to the Remote Handling Programme on behalf of and in support to our client for their location in Barcelona, Spain. The selected candidate should show integrity and professionalism.


Please note, the successful candidate will be employed by ATG Europe (or one of its subsidiaries). Furthermore, upon selection, they will be subject to a general security screening performed by an external provider (further information will be provided at interview stage).


The successful candidate will be tasked with, but not limited to:

  • Support the design of mechanical and electro-mechanical Remote Handling equipment covering advanced remotely operated manipulators, movers, and tools;
  • Contribute to the development of technical specifications for mechanical design and manufacturing activities;
  • Contribute to the review of design activities carried out by F4E suppliers.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering;
  • At least 6 years of relevant work experience;
  • Solid experience in mechanical design activities for machinery or robotic systems covering at least one of the following areas:
    • Preliminary/final design of moving machinery or robotic systems such as racks, pinions, gears, motors, hydraulic components, etc.;
    • Selection of standard parts for moving machinery or robotic systems such as racks, pinions, gears, motors, hydraulic components, etc.
    • Development of documentation supporting the design and/or manufacturing of moving machinery or robotic systems.
  • Experience using CATIA V5 for mechanical design activities is mandatory;
  • Experience in the use of ENOVIA is an asset;
  • Experience in structural analysis is an asset;
  • Development of technical specifications for the design and/or manufacturing of moving machinery or robotic systems is an asset;
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the EU;
  • Excellent level of English is mandatory;
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment is an asset.
