Job description

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer (Diagnostics Programme - PIP) on behalf of and in support to our client for their location in Barcelona, Spain. The selected candidate should show integrity and professionalism.


Please note, the successful candidate will be employed by ATG Europe (or one of its subsidiaries). Furthermore, upon selection, they will be subject to a general security screening performed by an external provider (further information will be provided at interview stage).


The successful candidate will be tasked with, but not limited to:

  • Support in the performance of engineering activities
    • Involvement in implementation and follow-up of work carried out by F4E Suppliers, contributions to F4E obligations to IO-CT, as well as contributions to reporting to F4E Management, including;
      • Contribution to the preparation, review and handling of documents, such as design, CAD, engineering, testing, manufacturing, interfaces, project management, reporting and quality assurance;
      • Contributions to Technical Specifications and involvement in the requirement verification process;
      • Critical review of design with respect to engineering aspects;
      • Support in meetings and reporting;
    • Technical and administrative contributions to design and manufacturing reviews;
  • Support in the preparation and review of engineering documentation in the field of mechanical engineering;
    • Support the review of design reports, test plans, test reports, etc.;
    • Participate to progress meetings, design reviews, etc.;
    • Support the preparation of technical reports, simulations, component qualification plans, etc;
    • Support the preparation of technical specifications of different equipment;
  • Support in the preparation and monitoring of Design Review documentation;
    • Support the members of the Diagnostics Programme in the preparation of status reports;
    • Contribute to the tracking and status monitoring of team documentation;
    • Support in the preparation of Design Review documentation.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Nuclear Engineering (or equivalent). Alternatively, relevant vocational training and extensive professional experience;
  • 6 years of relevant work experience;
  • Experience in the follow-up of manufacturing processes for mechanical components such as forming, forging, rolling, joining, machining, assembly, testing, etc.;
  • Experience working with codes and standards such as ASME III, ASME VIII, RCC-MR, RCC-MRx, Eurocodes, EN standards, European Directives, etc.;
  • Experience in the preparation of the detailed design of mechanical components is an asset;
  • Experience in the production and/or of built-to-print documentation is an asset;
  • Experience in the definition and management of manufacturing tolerances is an asset;
  • Knowledge of arc welding techniques (TIG, GMAW, SMAW) is an asset;
  • Experience in brazing and/or HIPping is an asset;
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment;
  • Capacity to work independently as well as in coordinated teams;
  • Good level of written and spoken English;
  • Eligibility to work in the EU.
