Job description

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer in support to our client Fusion for Energy for their location in ​Barcelona, Spain​. The successful applicant will be employed by ATG Europe and will be working onsite at our Client’s location.

The successful candidate will be tasked with, but not limited to:

  • Support in activities covering aspects of:  

    • Preparation and design of mechanical components (ASME III, ASME VIII, RCC-MR, RCC-MRx, Eurocodes, EN standards, European Directives, etc.) by use of at least one code and standard;  

    • Production of built-to-print documentation;  

    • Assessment of built-to-print documentation, checking both technical and economic aspects;  

    • Definition of the design of mechanical systems based on relevant manufacturing processes (forming, forging, rolling, joining, machining, assembly, testing, etc.);  

    • Performance of FMEAs and/or functional analyses and/or reliability analyses and/or spare part analyses.

Job requirements

Please ensure that your CV clearly explains how you meet these mandatory requirements. If it doesn’t align completely with the essential criteria, it could result in rejection. 

  • BEng/BSc in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Nuclear Engineering. Alternatively, candidates with vocational training and 5+ years of experience can also be considered;  

  • Experience in the use of codes and standards for the design of mechanical components  

  • (ASME III, ASME VIII, RCC-MR, RCC-MRx, Eurocodes, EN standards, European Directives, etc.); 

  • Experience in the production and assessment of built-to-print documentation, checking technical and economic aspects; 

  • Experience in the definition of manufacturing tolerances of mechanical assemblies considering their final dimensional requirements, including functional annotation; 

  • Experience in welding (TIG, GMAW, SMAW, EB, etc.), brazing, and/or diffusion bonding; 

  • Experience in the definition of the design of mechanical systems based on relevant manufacturing processes (forming, forging, rolling, joining, machining, assembly, testing, etc.); 

  • Experience in the performance of FMEAs and/or functional analyses and/or reliability analyses and/or spare part analyses; 

  • Experience in the design of optical or opto-mechanical systems; 

  • Experience in the design of engineering systems to be used under vacuum and/or for cryogenic applications; 

  • Experience in process engineering; 

  • Capable of working independently as well as in a coordinated team; 

  • Candidates must be eligible to work and live in the EU; 

  • Fluency in English both written and spoken.
