Nuclear Engineer

We are looking for a ​Nuclear Engineer​ on behalf of and in support to our client for their location in ​Garching, Germany or Cadarache, France. In exceptional cases, the position could also be carried out from Barcelona, Spain. The selected candidate should show integrity and professionalism. 

Please note, the successful candidate will be employed by ATG Europe (or one of its subsidiaries). Furthermore, upon selection, they will be subject to a general security screening performed by an external provider (further information will be provided at interview stage). 

The successful candidate will be tasked with, but not limited to: 

• Support the TBM Programme in the execution of technical tasks, in particular for the design and the mechanical and plant integration of the TBS;

• Support the Programme in the assessment of reports, technical and engineering documentation provided by the ITER International Organization (IO), European Laboratories & EUROfusion and F4E Suppliers;

• Provide support in the preparation and management of complex technical documentation such technical and design reports, technical specifications for Call For Tender, presentations, memorandums, Quality Assurance documents following the F4E Quality management system;

• Support the development of the design of the European TBM Systems in compliance with ITER requirements;

• Support the system engineering activities providing the inputs for the interface management, requirement management and validation, related performance, radiation protection, thermal and pressure loads, and operational constraints.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably nuclear Engineering;

• At least 5 years of relevant experience; Experience in the design and manufacturing of nuclear or chemical systems and components, involving cooling or heat transfer systems;

• Knowledge of design/construction codes such as RCC-MRx, ASME or similar, as well as in the European Pressure Equipment Directive;

• Working experience in drawing up technical reports in English;

• Experience working under a quality management system;

• Experience in the maintenance of equipment used in a nuclear environment is an asset;

• Experience in the mechanical assembly of complex systems is an asset;

• Experience in testing activities is an asset;

• Good knowledge of French ESP/ESPN regulations is an asset;

• Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the EU;

• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
