Job description

We are looking for an Operator at the Galileo Reference Centre on behalf of and in support to our client for their location in ​Noordwijk, The Netherlands​.  

 

Please note, the successful candidate will be employed by ATG Europe (or one of its subsidiaries). Furthermore, upon selection, they will be subject to a general security screening performed by an external provider (further information will be provided at interview stage). 

 

The successful candidate will be tasked with, but not limited to: 

  • Support for non-real time and real-time operations associated to the different missions of the GRC, support for the provision of expertise to external stakeholders, and improvements and deployment of operational tools;  

  • Support the activities of the different Boards (e.g. ARB), working groups & meetings from an operation perspective; 

  • Create & maintain GRC operational procedures during their life-time, contributing to its validation and training;  

  • Support the anomaly handling process at the GRC. Creation and follow up of anomalies, as well as the documentation of lessons learnt; 

  • Maintain the configuration and support the evolution of the GNSS lab infrastructure (Networking, PC’s, Laptops, Receivers, Antenna Cabling and process scheduling); 

  • Support through a Stand-By-Duty service for on-call support with two levels of intervention: 

    • Remote support: the consultants on Stand-by Duty will be required to work, outside of working hours, without the need of being physically present at the EUSPA office. This service shall include the performance of ad-hoc investigation using on-line tools that can be accessed remotely. This type of intervention shall be provided upon 2 hours notice through mobile call; 

    • On-site support: the person on Stand-by Duty will be required to be physically present at the premises outside of working hours. This service shall include performance of investigation at the premises (e.g. computational resources in the classified area, CLA, of the GRC or specific data store in the GRC archive). It is underlined that, for this level of intervention, access to the premises for the contractor’s personnel shall be ensured by EUSPA (with the presence of a security guard and/ or other EUSPA staff, as necessary each time). This will be done for both safety and security reasons. This type of intervention shall be provided upon 4 hours notice through mobile call. 

  • Follow up activities with EU MS (FPA); 

  • Follow up activities for stakeholders (e.g. for civil aviation EASA and EUROCONTROL); 

  • Follow up other international activities as needed (e.g. UN IGMA TF, whose activities include a detailed analysis of Multi-GNSS performance).

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; 

  • At least 4 years of relevant experience;  

  • Solid experience in GNSS operations or related fields;  

  • Experience managing GNSS lab infrastructure, including networking, hardware and operational tools;  

  • Availability for Stand-By-Duty services with both remote and on-site support capabilities;  

  • Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the EU;  

  • Security clearance is required; 

  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
