PA & Safety Support Engineer

We are looking for a ​PA & Safety Support Engineer​ on behalf of the European Space Agency (ESA) for their location in ​Frascati, Italy​. 

Please note, the successful candidate will be employed by ATG Europe (or one of its subsidiaries). Furthermore, upon selection, they will be subject to a general security screening performed by an external provider (further information will be provided at interview stage). 

The successful candidate will be tasked with, but not limited to: 

• Integrated support to Product Assurance & Safety office within ESA Programs at the Directorate of Space Transportation;

• Support ESA PA & Safety Managers (PAM) in collaboration with other PA and RAMS officers;

• Contribute to PA&S requirements baseline in compliance with ESA policies;

• Produce and implement ESA project PA&S plans;

• Verify PA&S requirements fulfillment and compliance with management specifications;

• Review contractor PA&S plans, specifications, and performance, proposing corrective actions;

• Assess PA&S requirements implementation during project reviews and provide monthly reports;

• Support project development reviews, organization of documentation, and participation in quality reviews;

• Monitor PA status, NCR/Waivers/Problems, track issues, and provide reports;

• Control NCR/Waivers/Problems, manage NRB or CCB meetings, follow-up on actions, and report activities;

• Guide procurement and application of EEE parts, materials, and processes through MPCB and ECEB;

• Potentially manage RAMS activities and safety file participation;

• Monitor manufacturing, integration, and test activities with audits and inspections, providing reports;

• Define formal acceptance requirements and conduct Acceptance Reviews;

• Organize quality inquiries and coordinate PA&S support;

• Ensure software PA requirements implementation;

• Perform other PA&S tasks as required, with frequent missions in Europe and French Guyana.

• Master’s degree in a relevant engineering field;

• At least 4 years of experience in a relevant field;

• Significant PA&S experience in space projects;

• Experience in technical domains (launchers, spacecraft technologies);

• Knowledge of R&D trends and industrial landscape;

• Experience in managing and monitoring industrial activities and reviews;

• Knowledge of Configuration Management and ISO 9001 PA implementation is a plus;

• Candidates must be eligible to work and live in the EU;

• Fluency in English and French, both written and spoken.
