Job description

We are looking for a ​Propulsion Architect ​ on behalf of and in support to our client for their location in ​Milan, Italy​. The selected candidate should show integrity and professionalism.


Please note, the successful candidate will be employed by ATG Europe (or one of its subsidiaries). Furthermore, upon selection, they will be subject to a general security screening performed by an external provider (further information will be provided at interview stage).


As a Propulsion architect, you will lead and drive the chemical propulsion activities along the whole project lifecycle, including design, procurement of the subsystem, integration, verification, launch and in-orbit operations.

The successful candidate’s knowledge of space systems, chemical propulsion and propulsion equipment will be key for the success of the candidate.

The successful candidate will be tasked with, but not limited to:

  • Technical Lead of Chemical propulsion subsystems;
  • Develop Propulsion architectures and perform related trade-offs;
  • Lead the Design and Development of Propulsion subsystems;
  • Technical management of Propulsion subsystem subcontractor;
  • Technical Support to Procurement of Propulsion equipment;
  • Lead the Verification and Validation of Propulsion subsystems;
  • Support satellite AIT and verification activities;
  • Support to satellite proposals and system studies for Propulsion topics;
  • Preparation of technical documentation;
  • Participation to Launch campaign.

Job requirements

  • Doctoral degree in aerospace engineering, physics or comparable qualifications and professional experience;
  • Experience in the space business, especially with Propulsion architectures, procurement, design and verification and validation processes;
  • Strong knowledge of fluidics, physical laws in hydraulic and pneumatic systems in both the stationary and dynamic state;
  • Experience in satellite verification, including participation to AIT campaigns;
  • Good knowledge of Office Tools and DOORS;
  • Excellent sense of responsibility;
  • Structured hands-on work-approach;
  • Highly self-motivated and able to work autonomously;
  • Excellent problem-solving skills;
  • Good interpersonal skills;
  • Customer oriented thinking-approach;
  • Ability to work in international teams;
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
