Job description

We are looking for a ​Senior Structural/Mechanical Engineer​ to join our Engineering department at ATG HQ in Noordwijk, The Netherlands. 

 

Please note, the successful candidate will be employed by ATG Europe (or one of its subsidiaries). Furthermore, upon selection, they will be subject to a general security screening performed by an external provider (further information will be provided at interview stage). 

 

The successful candidate will be tasked with, but not limited to: 

  • Conceptual and detailed design of Structures and Mechanisms; 

  • Modeling and analysis of spacecraft hardware using FEM and other methods; 

  • Generation, review and/or negotiation of requirements/specifications, development plans, verification plans, test plans and test procedures; 

  • Participation in MAIT campaigns, as the responsible structural engineer; 

  • Model correlation in relation to test data; 

  • Documentation of the work, and presentation and justification of the work in reviews; 

  • Direct interfacing with customers on technical level when needed; 

  • Supervision and mentoring of junior colleagues; 

  • Participation and active contribution to team and company development, e.g., generating/supporting novel technical ideas/innovations, new processes/methods, new ways of work and positive work culture; 

  • Contribution to commercial activities including (technical) proposal preparation and offers.

Job requirements

Please ensure that your CV clearly explains how you meet the mandatory requirements. If it doesn’t align completely with the essential criteria, it could result in rejection. 

  • A Master’s degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering, or similar; 

  • At least 8 years of relevant industrial work experience as structural/mechanical engineer; 

  • Applied experience with a NASTRAN-based FEM package in space; 

  • Applied experience with CAD software, manufacturing drawings and GD&T, ideally Solidworks or Catia; 

  • Broad knowledge and experience of how to develop and realize typical and more novel spacecraft structures; 

  • Applied experience with FEMAP is an asset;  

  • Excellent communication skills and good command of English language; 

  • Ability to work autonomously and self-manage; 

  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the EU; 

  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
