We are looking for a ​Space Safety Communication Coordinator​ on behalf of the European Space Agency (ESA) for their location in ​Paris​, France.  

Please note that this position is a temporary cover for a duration of 4 months.

 

The successful candidate will lead and implement engaging communication strategies for ESA’s Clean Space and Space Safety programmes, ensuring strong and consistent outreach across the space community. They will coordinate the creation of clear, creative content (including digital, visual, and written materials), manage online presence and collaborative platforms, and organise events and outreach initiatives. The role also involves working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners, supporting reporting activities, and ensuring effective communication of programme results and achievements. 

 

Please note, the successful candidate will be employed by ATG Europe (or one of its subsidiaries). Furthermore, upon selection, they will be subject to a general security screening performed by an external provider (further information will be provided at interview stage). 

 

The successful candidate will be tasked with, but not limited to: 

 

Tasks and Responsibilities 

Clean Space Services:  

  • Develop and maintain the ESA Clean Space communication strategy for the Member States’ space community;   

  • Implement the communication plan for the Clean Space Office;   

  • Co-ordinate the web-based collaborative platforms;   

  • Maintain the online presence of clean space;   

  • Organise the content and content creation for the production of videos, graphics and animations;   

  • Support the Clean Space Office in implementing the office's activities;   

  • Evaluate and disseminate results of technology activities;    

  • Creative lead for the production of written and visual content for communication;   

  • Initiate and coordinate outreach activities;   

  • Organise online and on-site events;   

  • Liaise with all directorates involved in activities related to clean space;   

  • Ensure responses to media requests in coordination with the ESA Communication department;   

  • Support the Clean Space team regarding all communication activities;   

  • Prepare the reporting to ESA boards, delegations and industry;   

  • Support the Clean Space office with its programmatic aspects; 

Space Safety Services:  

  • Coordinate the Space Safety Programme’s (S2P) communication activities; 

  • Develop and maintain the S2P communication strategy; 

  • Manage and implement the communication plan for S2P; 

  • Enhance the online presence of S2P;  

  • Coordinate and lead the production of written and visual content for communication; 

  • Support to the allocation of resources to communication activities; 

  • Organize events; 

  • Liaise with all directorates involved in space safety activities; 

  • Prepare reports for boards, delegations, and industry.

Job requirements

Please ensure that your CV clearly explains how you meet the essential requirements. If it doesn’t align completely with the essential criteria, it could result in rejection. 

  • Degree in Economics or Business and Management; 

  • At least 7 years of experience in Economics or Business and Management, with strong emphasis on communication of green technologies and/or sustainable development; 

  • Proficiency in the suite of MS Office software; 

  • High level of reliability; 

  • Excellent communication skills; 

  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken; 

  • Knowledge of another European Language is an asset; 

  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the EU.
