Job description

We are looking for a ​Structural Engineer​ on behalf of and in support to ATG Engineering for our location in ​either Frascati, Italy or Barcelona, Spain​.  

 

Please note, upon selection the successful candidate will be subject to a general security screening performed by an external provider (further information will be provided at interview stage). 

 

The successful candidate will be tasked with, but not limited to: 

  • Conceptual and detailed design of Structures and Mechanisms; 

  • Modeling and analysis of spacecraft hardware using FEM and other methods; 

  • Generation, review and/or negotiation of requirements/specifications, development plans, verification plans, test plans and test procedures; 

  • Participation in MAIT campaigns, as the responsible structural engineer; 

  • Model correlation in relation to test data; 

  • Documentation of the work, and presentation and justification of the work in reviews; 

  • Direct interfacing with customers on technical level when needed; 

  • Supervision and mentoring of junior colleagues; 

  • Participation and active contribution to team and company development, e.g., generating/supporting novel technical ideas/innovations, new processes/methods, new ways of work and positive work culture; 

  • Contribution to commercial activities including (technical) proposal preparation and offers. 

Job requirements

Please ensure that your CV clearly explains how you meet the mandatory requirements. If it doesn’t align completely with the essential criteria, it could result in rejection. 

  • Master’s degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering, or similar; 

  • At least 5 years of relevant industrial work experience as structural engineer; 

  • At least 3 years’ applied experience with a NASTRAN-based FEM package in industrial settings - FEMAP is preferred but not a must; 

  • Broad knowledge and experience of how to develop and realize typical and more novel spacecraft structures; 

  • Applied multi-disciplinary skills and experience in Thermo-Elastics is a strong asset; 

  • Experience with CAD software, manufacturing drawings and GD&T is an asset; 

  • Excellent communication skills and good command of English language; 

  • Ability to work autonomously and self-managed; 

  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the EU; 

  • Able to periodically travel to company HQ in The Netherlands and travel for work missions.
