Job description

We are looking for multiple people in support to Service Provision Management on behalf of and in support to our client for multiple locations in Europe: Prague, Saint-Germain-en-Laye (France), Madrid (Spain), Noordwijk (the Netherlands), Oberpfaffenhoffen (Germany), Fucino (Italy) and Toulouse (France). The selected candidate should show integrity and professionalism. Please note that the start date would be the beginning of April 2024 and that the engagement will be in two consecutive phases (within and after October 2024).


The activities below will include frequent access to classified security areas and systems. They may entail meetings in the other client's premises in Europe, EC premises in Brussels, ESA premises in Noordwijk – ESTEC (The Netherlands) or other European centres, Galileo Control Centres in Fucino (Italy) and Oberpfaffenhoffen (Germany) or other space programme sites across the world (for a few tasks).


Please note, the successful candidate will be employed by ATG Europe (or one of its subsidiaries). Furthermore, upon selection, they will be subject to a general security screening performed by an external provider (further information will be provided at interview stage).


The successful candidate will be tasked with, but not limited to:

  • Operations and Service Provision concept;
    • Contribute to the elaboration of the Operations and service provision concept, including the use of ground centers and stations;
    • Technical follow-up of operation execution and processes;
    • Support transition from current operations to future service operator: migration scenarios analysis, operations transition plans;
    • Support the definition, verification and implementation of Operational transitions associated to system evolutions, including through integrated team within the System development projects;
  • System Operability, Maintainability and Operations preparations;
    • Analyze and report on operations return of experience, derive operability and maintainability requirements for System evolutions;
    • Participate, from operator point of view, to the system design and development activities (e.g. CDR, QR, SDQR) so as to ensure proper operability and maintainability of the Systems in development and to prepare its operations and maintenance documentation, including through integrated team within the System development projects;
    • Support the definition, verification and implementation of System operational transitions associated to system evolutions, including through integrated team within the System development projects;
  • Ground and Space Segment Operations;
    • Define the approach to operational validation of major system/SW releases for both ground and space segment and support the EUSPA for managing the integration of new services within the operational baseline;
    • Follow-up operational validation of major system/SW releases for both ground and space segment and support the EUSPA for managing the integration of new services within the operational baseline;
    • Define and analyze the relevant Operations KPIs;
    • Analyze the operations changes: baseline configuration changes or deviations, operation processes evolutions and services provision transitions;
    • Define criticality/urgency for observation reports analyses, resolution, setting adequate operational work-arounds, priorities and ensuring and monitoring the timely management by operator and/or industry of observation reports and system anomalies resolution plans;
    • Participate to the operations Observation Reports Review Board;
    • Follow-up and contribute to operations related to the Service Provision;
  • Space programs telecommunication network support;
    • Review of the technical requirements baseline related to communication network, local operations and security, and ensuring their consistency and evolution according to the system configuration;
    • Contribute to the consolidation of a communication network technical and services level requirements;
    • Define the approach to the use of existing infrastructure and needs for re-design (if applicable);
    • Plan hand-over with incumbent (if applicable);
    • Support service validation;
    • Analyze the key performance indicators related to the communication network and the obsolescence reports.

Job requirements

  • Master degree in Engineering or relevant field; Possibly Bachelor with solid experience as a fall back option;
  • Between 2 and 10 years of relevant working experience in security engineering for classified environments / defence;
  • Exposed to ISO27001 / 27002 certified environments and COMSEC information;
  • One or more of the fields of expertise are required:
    • Security Governance and risk management;
    • Security Audit and implementation;
    • Service and facility management;
    • Handling of classified documentation (EU, NATO);
    • Security accreditation;
    • Business development.
  • ISO27001 audit experience is an asset;
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken;
  • Eligibility to work and live in the EU;
  • Eligibility for EU Personal Security Clearance is mandatory.
