Job description

We are looking for a System AIT Engineer on behalf of and in support to OHB Italy for their location in ​Milan, Italy​. In this position, you will be the main support to the AIT Manager for the preparation, implementation and monitoring of all AIT activities related to a specific project. You will need knowledge and good feeling with practical activities, educational and on-the-field knowledge of mechanics, physics, basic electrical and functional principles of a Satellite. You will report to the Head of the AIT Department.  

 

Please note, the successful candidate will be employed by ATG Europe (or one of its subsidiaries). Furthermore, upon selection, they will be subject to a general security screening performed by an external provider (further information will be provided at interview stage). 

 

The successful candidate will be tasked with, but not limited to: 

  • Analyse documentation describing the architecture of the item subject of AIT activities, including requirements specifications, assembly drawings (mechanical and electrical), user manuals;  

  • Support the preparation and maintenance of the AIT Plan and the AIT Flow;  

  • Verify the availability of the input necessary to the AIT activities: Test and Configuration Requirement’s, System Schedule, User Manual’s, etc;  

  • Coordinate, plan and monitor the preparation of the AIT documentation, as Procedures, with their Dashboard, Setup design, As-run Procedures, IRR, TRR and PTR documentation; 

  • Prepare procedures to be executed during integration and testing activities including, if necessary, test scripts for automatic test routines;  

  • Contribute to the definition of support equipment (MGSE, EGSE), test setup and required instrumentation;  

  • Support the preparation of clean room and laboratory integration area, equipment and instrumentation;  

  • Support and, if necessary, direct participation to both mechanical and electrical functional AIT integration and testing activities, in clean room and laboratory environment; 

  • Support the technical coordination of the external and internal test facilities; 

  • Support the preparation of the Environmental Test campaigns and the Launch Campaign, when envisaged by the Project, including participation if necessary; 

  • Support and participation to the AIT-related reviews, i.e. IRR, TRR, PTR, NRB, Progress Meeting and all similar Project reviews.

Job requirements

Please ensure that your CV clearly explains how you meet the mandatory requirements. If it doesn’t align completely with the essential criteria, it could result in rejection. 

  • Master’s degree or comparable in Aerospace Engineering or similar; 

  • At least three years of professional experience in the domain of AIT;  

  • Confident with Space Business documentation, such as Satellite/Payload/Equipment User Manuals, Architecture, Design and Test Requirements, Procedures, Assembly Drawings and similar;  

  • Knowledge of the quality principles which apply to the Space Business, inside and outside a Clean Room;  

  • Proficient in the use of MS Office tools, including MS Project; 

  • Proficient in the use of CAD Viewer software; 

  • Strong understanding of issues, identification of root causes and definition of solutions;  

  • Good interpersonal skills both internally with colleagues and externally with the customer; 

  • Good reporting capabilities and easy communication to the Management; 

  • Availability to execute work also in long term missions, as per the Environmental or Launch Campaign; 

  • Available to work in multiple shifts or at weekends and bank holidays, when necessary for the achievement of Project milestones; 

  • Candidate must be eligible to live and work in the EU; 

  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
