System & Software Engineer

We are looking for a ​System & Software Engineer​ on behalf of the European Space Agency (ESA) for their location in ​Noordwijk, The Netherlands, to join their ​Space Systems Section​.  

Please note, the successful candidate will be employed by ATG Europe (or one of its subsidiaries). Furthermore, upon selection, they will be subject to a general security screening performed by an external provider (further information will be provided at interview stage). 

The successful candidate will be tasked with, but not limited to: 

• Support development contracts and act as the activity technical responsible; 

• Maintain interfaces with the prime contractors; 

• Participate in progress meetings and reviews, as requested, and provide appropriate feedback on the achieved progress and results; 

• Develop and apply System Engineering tools and models; 

• Provide support to technical coordination activities; 

• Provide space segment systems engineering support and consultancy to ESA projects, programmes and studies throughout all the project phases; 

• Support project reviews and evaluation of proposals; 

• Support design development, technical budgets, requirements management, verification activities, interfaces management; 

• Support coordination of engineering domains in support to the system engineering function; 

• Support CDF studies as System engineer as required.

• PhD or MSc in Engineering from a recognised institution of secondary studies, or equivalent;  

• At least 4 years of relevant experience; 

• Expert knowledge of S/C system and mission design, including system design modelling tools and Concurrent Engineering applied to space mission assessment and design;  

• Knowledge of System of Systems (SoS) architecting and related tools (such as System Architect, Focal Point, etc.) and frameworks (e.g. MODAF, TOGAF); 

• Knowledge and practice in the application of ESA SE Standards (e.g. ECSS-E-10 series) and SW engineering;  

• Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the EU;  

• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
