Job description

We are looking for an experienced Thermal Engineer in support ATG Engineering for our location in ​either Barcelona, Spain or Rome, Italy​.  

 

Please note, the successful candidate will be subject to a general security screening performed by an external provider (further information will be provided at interview stage). 

 

The successful candidate will be tasked with, but not limited to: 

  • Perform technical activities, including: 

  • Conceptual and detailed design of thermal control systems for spacecraft hardware; 

  • Modeling and analysis of spacecraft hardware and optimization of TCS; 

  • Generation, review and/or negotiation of requirements/specifications, design, development, and verification plans as well as test plans and procedures; 

  • Participation in MAIT campaigns, as the responsible thermal engineer. 

  • Contribute to commercial activities including (technical) proposal preparation, offers, team business development, etc.; 

  • Interface directly with customers on a technical level; 

  • Supervise and mentor junior colleagues; 

  • Participate and actively contribution to team and company development, e.g., generating/supporting novel technical ideas/innovations, new processes/methods, new ways of work and positive work culture; 

  • Carry out basic project management and administration tasks on an as-needed basis. 

Job requirements

Please ensure that your CV clearly explains how you meet the mandatory requirements. If it doesn’t align completely with the essential criteria, it could result in rejection. 

  • Master’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, or similar; 

  • At least 8 years of relevant industrial work experience in space thermal engineering; 

  • Significant experience with ESATAN-TMS in industrial settings (transitioning from similar software can be discussed); 

  • Broad knowledge and experience of how to develop and realize typical and more novel spacecraft thermal control solutions; 

  • Experience in (technical) proposal preparation and other commercial-related activities; 

  • Experience in CAD software (Solidworks, Catia) and FEM software (Nastran, FEMAP) is not mandatory but an asset; 

  • Ability to work autonomously and self-managed; 

  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the EU; 

  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken; 

  • Available to periodically travel to company HQ in the Netherlands and travel for work missions.
