Job description

We are looking for a ​UX/UI Specialist​ on behalf of and in support to our client for their location in ​The Hague, The Netherlands​.  

 

Please note, the successful candidate will be employed by ATG Europe (or one of its subsidiaries). Furthermore, upon selection, they will be subject to a general security screening performed by an external provider (further information will be provided at interview stage). 

 

The successful candidate will be tasked with, but not limited to: 

  • User experience design:  

  • UX research with potential users of innovative new tools;  

  • Specification mapping;  

  • Stakeholder analysis (e.g. create personas, create empathy maps);  

  • UX prototyping by wireframing and creating low- and high-res models with tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or Balsamiq;  

  • UX testing with potential users of innovative new tools, usability studies, using digital design applications, such as VR or tangible interactions. 

  • Event/workshop planning and moderating, such as Design Thinking workshops, speculative design workshops and security and strategic design workshops with senior or executive management; 

  • Innovative communication in relation to science and technology, including the use of video and infographics; 

  • Ideating co-creation approaches or methodologies to develop innovative solutions; 

  • Application of user-centered approaches in all design task.

Job requirements

Please ensure that your CV clearly explains how you meet the mandatory requirements. If it doesn’t align completely with the essential criteria, it could result in rejection. 

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field;

  • A Master’s degree is a strong asset;

  • At least 10 years of relevant work experience;

  • At least 3 years of experience in the design sector, including working with general design methodologies, creating and managing Design Systems, usability heuristics, and accessibility guidelines; 

  • Participation in a minimum of 3 projects involving the design of a digital application (UX design), for example for a desktop or mobile application; 

  • Participation in a minimum of 3 projects involving the design of a physical/digital application using for example ARDUINO; 

  • At least 1 year of experience working on an online community sharing platform, online content management system, or online collaboration tool; 

  • At least 1 year of experience in scoping, preparing, conducting, and following-up of a strategic design or security design workshop with executive level management; 

  • At least 1 year of experience of design in a public authority, preferably law enforcement or another organisation dealing with preventing and combating crime; 

  • Knowledge of general design methodologies, creating and managing Design Systems, usability heuristics, and accessibility guidelines; 

  • Knowledge of user-centric design approaches; 

  • Knowledge of conceptual frameworks such as the Cynefin Framework for decision making, or similar; 

  • Candidates must be able to present a certificate of good conduct no older than 3 months at the date of submission as per the client’s requirement;  

  • Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the EU; 

  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
